APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team couldn't convert on a few key possessions in the final minute Tuesday, and Lake Forest College pulled away for an 80-73 Midwest Conference victory at Alexander Gymnasium.
  Lake Forest outscored the Vikings 13-5 over the final 2:44 to pick up the victory.Â

Casey Schoenecker posted a double-double for the Vikings with a team-best 17 points to go with a game-high 12 rebounds.
Nicholas Gouriotis added 14 points and three rebounds for Lawrence (5-18, 3-11 MWC).Â

Jake Fisher went 4-for-7 from the floor, including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc, on his way to 13 points, and he handed out a game-high nine assists.
Nicolas Manzanera came off the bench for the Vikings to hit 4-of-6 shots from 3-point range on his way to 12 points.
  Lawrence led by as many as six points early in the second half at 42-36, but Lake Forest (8-14, 6-7) rallied and pulled out to a 62-54 lead midway through the half.
  The Vikings were still down seven when they rallied to tie the game. Schoenecker started the run with a layup, and Fisher then buried a 3-pointer. Fisher later converted two free throws to tie the game at 68-68 with 3:45 left.Â
  After Zach Foster's floater gave Lake Forest a 70-68 lead, Lawrence missed a shot and Alex Knight made a pair of free throws for a 72-68 edge. Lawrence got two baskets from Schoenecker over the next minute to keep the deficit at two points.Â
  Lake Forest went up 77-73 with 24 seconds left, but the Vikings missed in close and were forced to foul Foster, who converted one free throw with 14 seconds left. After another Lawrence miss, the Foresters grabbed the rebounds to seal the victory.
  Knight led Lake Forest and scorers with 33 points.
