DAVENPORT, Fla. -- The Lawrence University baseball team swept a Midwest Conference doubleheader from Knox College on Saturday in two decidedly different ways.

The game was tied 1-1 when Lawrence got two runs in the bottom of the seventh to surge ahead.
Taylor Freeman started the inning with a single and moved to third on an error.
Parker Knoll followed with a sacrifice fly to score Freeman, and Lawrence led 2-1.
Jacob Charon then smashed a solo homer, and the Vikings were up 3-1.
Brust worked around a two-out single in the eighth and worked a perfect ninth to close out the win.
Lawrence picked up its other run in the second when
William Zatkowski led off the inning with a double and later scored on
Zach Leslie's single for a 1-0 lead.
Charon was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a run driven in, and
Edan Perez also went 2-for-3 for the Vikings.Â
In the nightcap, Lawrence pounded out 18 hits and got another superlative pitching performance to complete the sweep.
  Lawrence's
Elden Santana allowed three hits over six innings, struck out five and walked four to pick up his first win of the season.Â
Perez went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple, drove in two runs and scored twice.
Tate Hartlaub also was 3-for-4, scored three runs and drove in a run for the Vikings. Freeman went 3-for-5 with a double, scored twice and drove in two runs from the lead-off spot.
Leslie finished 2-for-3, drove in two runs and scored one, and Zatkowski was 2-for-4 with a double, scored a run and drove in a run.
Lawrence had a 1-0 lead heading to the bottom of the third when the Vikings exploded for 10 runs. Lawrence had 10 hits in the inning, including a two-run double by Freeman and run-scoring doubles from Charon and Zatkowski. Perez tripled and scored in the inning and then added a run-scoring single later in the frame.Â
The Vikings tacked on two more runs in the sixth on run-scoring singles from
CJ Filipek and
William Polanco.
Lawrence roughed up Knox starter Brandon Ward, who entered the game with some sparkling numbers. Ward gave up 11 runs, only five earned, on 14 hits over three innings.
