Lawrence knocks off Blue Devils

    APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's soccer team scored just before halftime Wednesday and then added a second-half goal in a 2-1 nonconference victory over UW-Stout on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
    Zoe Feeley-Wheeler scored Lawrence's first goal, and Elena Hartung picked up the game-winner for the Vikings (7-4-5).
    Lawrence trailed 1-0 after Mckenna Long's goal at the 20:29 mark, but the Vikings tied it up just before the half. Feeley-Wheeler took a pass over the top from Ava Elders and beat Stout goalkeeper Claire Olson with 15 seconds left in the half.
    Hartung then scored her third goal of the season at the 57:37 mark to put the Vikings ahead for good.
    Lawrence goalkeeper Ally Littau kept the Blue Devils (7-5-3) off the board for the final 32-plus minutes. Littau finished with six saves. Olson had four saves for Stout.
    Stout had a 12-6 edge in shots for the match.
