LAKE FOREST, Ill. ā Lawrence University (21-10, 5-2 Midwest) defeated Lake Forest College (4-14, 1-5 Midwest) in straight sets on Wednesday night at the Sports Center, winning 25-16, 25-20, 25-21. The Vikings' offense was led by a .244 hitting percentage, while the Foresters were held to a .106 hitting percentage.
Lawrence opened the first set with a commanding lead, scoring the first five points with contributions from
Audrey Weier and
Annaliesse Schmall.
Ally Corrente consistently facilitated the offense, assisting multiple kills, including four by Weier. Despite the Foresters' efforts to close the gap, including a service ace by Ireland Van Stone, Lawrence maintained control.
Hazel Cook and Weier each delivered key kills to extend Lawrence's advantage to 24-16. An attack error by Lake Forest's Crystyna Yates and a final kill by Weier, assisted by Corrente, sealed the set at 25-16 in favor of the Vikings.
Lawrence took an early lead against Lake Forest in the second set, starting with a 2-0 advantage after an attack error by Meghan Winston and a kill by Weier. The Foresters responded with a kill by Rio Dirksen, but Lawrence maintained control with a series of kills by Corrente, Cook, and

The Foresters attempted a comeback, narrowing the lead to 23-20, but Cook's decisive kills, assisted by Corrente, secured the set for Lawrence with a 25-20 victory.
In the third set, Lawrence pulled ahead with a decisive 25-21 victory over Lake Forest. Key contributions came from Weier, who recorded multiple kills, including the set-clinching point. Lawrence capitalized on errors from the Foresters, including several attack errors and a service error, to maintain their lead. Despite a late push from Lake Forest, highlighted by Dirksen's consecutive kills, Lawrence's consistent performance, supported by Corrente's assists, secured their win in the set.
Corrente delivered 33 assists over three games, leading the team's setting efforts. Weier contributed significantly on offense with 13 kills on a .545 hitting percentage. Cook added 12 kills and one ace, while
