Hartung scores twice as Lawrence blanks Cornell

    APPLETON, Wis. -- Elena Hartung scored twice and picked up an assist Saturday to lead the Lawrence University women's soccer team to a 4-0 Midwest Conference victory over Cornell College on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
    Lawrence (4-3-5, 2-0-1 MWC) piled up a 17-3 edge in shots in recording the shutout. Lawrence goalkeeper Ella Lysne made one save to pick up the shutout. 
    Lawrence jumped on the Rams (2-9-0, 0-2-0) early when Hannah Kalt scored at the 6:50 mark for a 1-0 advantage. The Vikings made it 2-0 later in the first half when Ava Elders took a pass from Hartung and scored at the 27:44 mark. 
    The score stayed that way until the 73rd minute when Hartung picked up her first goal of the day and the first of her collegiate career. She scored off a pass from Lucia Pierce-Haig at 72:11 for a 3-0 lead. Hartung then scored off a pass from Charlotte Walker at the 77:01 mark to complete the scoring.
    Cornell goalkeeper Sabrina Ibanez made eight saves and took the loss.
