Appleton, Wis. — Lawrence University (2-0, 0-0 Midwest Conference) defeated Dominican University (IL) (1-1, 0-0 NACC), 61-44, at Alexander Gymnasium  with Lawrence recording seven blocks and seven steals.Â
The game commenced with Lawrence taking an early lead, thanks to
Charlotte Brennan's contributions, who scored the opening six points, including a layup at 8:38.
Sophie Morey extended Lawrence's advantage with a layup at 5:54, assisted by Brennan. The Stars struggled to find their rhythm, failing to score a basket until Lia Saunders drained a three-pointer with 2:56 remaining. Kennedy Yost's free throws gave the Stars their first points at 3:56. Lawrence maintained control, closing the quarter with
Olivia Kesti's jumper as the final buzzer sounded, securing a 16-7 lead.
In the second quarter, Lawrence maintained a strong performance, outscoring the Stars 18-10. Early in the quarter, Lawrence's
Kylie Heller sank a three-pointer at 8:10, assisted by Kesti, to widen their lead.
Kate Adams contributed with a crucial three-pointer at 7:47, pushing the score further in Lawrence's favor. The Stars responded with a three-pointer by Eva Herbig at 6:14, assisted by Yost, but Lawrence's consistent scoring, including free throws by Brennan and a late jumper by
Abby Talbot, kept them ahead. The quarter concluded with Lawrence leading 34-17 after

In the final quarter, Lawrence secured a 61-44 victory over the Stars. Lawrence's Brennan contributed significantly with a pair of layups, including one at the 8:24 mark, extending their lead. Heller added to the visiting team's score with a successful three-pointer midway through the quarter. Despite a late three-pointer by the Stars' Yost, Lawrence maintained control, highlighted by a fast-break three-pointer from
Alena Vondracek with 38 seconds remaining. Both teams battled turnovers, with Lawrence and Dominican each committing 11 in the quarter.
