GRINNELL, Iowa — Lawrence University fell to Grinnell College 63-6 at Rosenbloom Field, with the only score for the Lawrence Vikings coming from an 88-yard kickoff return touchdown.

Lawrence responded swiftly to Grinnell's early lead, with Noah Elhardouzi returning a kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown immediately after Grinnell's opening score. Despite this momentum, the Vikings faced challenges on offense, failing to convert on third down and gaining only 11 rushing yards on five attempts in the first quarter. Grinnell capitalized on a fumble recovery, adding a field goal to hold a 10-6 lead at the end of the period.

Grinnell capitalized on Lawrence's turnovers and penalties to extend their lead in the second quarter. Following a fumble recovery by Grinnell at the 13:13 mark, Lucky Carton led the charge with a 25-yard rush, setting up a scoring drive that resulted in a touchdown by Sam Eaton. Grinnell's ground game proved decisive, with Carton contributing another touchdown on a 19-yard run, while Lawrence's offense struggled, gaining only two yards in the air and managing negative nine yards on the ground. The period concluded with Grinnell leading 31-6.

Grinnell dominated the third quarter, extending their lead to 49-6 with a touchdown by Carton at 9:54, followed by a successful two-point conversion. The Vikings struggled offensively, failing to convert on three third-down attempts and accruing 15 penalty yards, which hindered their progress. Despite a strong defensive effort highlighted by Rex Pearson's 31-yard fumble recovery return, they were unable to capitalize on the turnover.

Grinnell extended their lead with two rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter, including a 36-yard run by Bennett Destino at 14:01 and a two-yard score by Carton at 6:31. Lawrence was held to 39 rushing yards on 13 attempts and was unable to convert on any third or fourth down opportunities. Grinnell's defense allowed only one Vikings drive to gain more than 10 yards while also forcing a turnover on downs. The final score was 63-6 in favor of Grinnell.

Chris Lozano led the defensive effort with 13 tackles, showcasing his ability to control the field. Elhardouzi contributed significantly by scoring a touchdown on a kick return, adding to his three tackles.
