Lawrence shutout at MSOE

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Lawrence University (0-5-0, 0-2-0) fell to the Milwaukee School of Engineering (3-2-0, 2-0-0), 4-0, on Saturday in Milwaukee. The Vikings were unable to capitalize on any of their four power-play opportunities, while allowing two power-play goals and a shorthanded goal to the Raiders.

The first period commenced with the Raiders taking an early lead as Emily Reiner scored unassisted just 16 seconds into the game. Shortly after, Hannah Baumann doubled the advantage for MSOE with a power-play goal at 3:18, assisted by MaryFrancis Williams and Amy MacDonald. Despite the Vikings' efforts to capitalize on their own power-play opportunities, they were unable to convert, with Jenna Kent making several key saves for MSOE. The period concluded with MSOE holding a 2–0 lead over Lawrence.

In the second period, MSOE capitalized on a power play to extend its lead. Gabi Heuser scored her second goal of the season at 19:02, assisted by Lilo Emerson and Sara Kopf, giving the Raiders a 3-0 advantage. Lawrence's defense, led by Sarah Dobrzynski with multiple saves, worked to counter MSOE's offensive pressure, including several blocked shots by Evelyn Pryadkin and Valeria Ansoleaga during the Raiders' earlier power plays. Despite Emma Perry and the Vikings winning key faceoffs, they were unable to convert their opportunities into goals. The period concluded with the Raiders firmly in control, maintaining the three-goal lead.

In the third period, the Raiders solidified their lead with a short-handed goal by Sara Kopf at 13:38, assisted by Lilo Emerson and Jenna Kent. Lawrence's attempts to capitalize on their power play were thwarted, as they failed to score during the advantage. Dobrzynski faced a barrage of shots, making crucial saves to keep the Raiders from extending their lead further. Despite their defensive efforts, the Vikings could not penetrate the Raiders' defense, concluding the game with MSOE maintaining a 4–0 victory.

The next game for the Vikings is on November 14 at 7 PM, and they will face Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL.
