SUPERIOR, Wis. — Lawrence University (2-8-0) was defeated by the University of Dubuque (4-6-0), 5-1, at a neutral site in Superior. The Vikings managed an early goal in the first period, but Dubuque controlled the game, scoring twice in the final period to secure the win.
The first period opened with the Spartans gaining an early advantage as Matt Downie scored a power-play goal at 13:11, assisted by Jack Paweski and Max Erstad. Dubuque extended their lead with an even-strength goal by Nikita Borodayenko at 6:53, assisted by Jesse English and Aleksey Zielinski. Despite falling behind, the Vikings responded late in the period when
