APPLETON, Wis. -- A late scoring drought was tough to overcome Saturday as the Lawrence University men's basketball team fell 80-75 to Lake Forest College in a Midwest Conference game at Alexander Gymnasium.
  The Vikings led by eight with just under nine minutes remaining but scored only two points over the next seven minutes as Lake Forest built a four-point edge.

Casey Schoenecker led Lawrence (5-15, 3-8 MWC) and all scorers with 24 points as he went 11-for-19 from the floor. He also added six rebounds and three assists.Â

Hogan Demovsky added 12 points, going 4-for-5 from 3-point range, to go along with four assists and two rebounds.
Nolan Koch came off the bench for the Vikings to score 11 points, hand out three assists and pick up two rebounds.Â
  Lawrence went on an 8-0 run with a jumper by
Caleb Nash and back-to-back 3-pointers from Demovsky and
Cameron Nash to grab a 69-61 lead with 8:52 remaining. The Foresters responded with eight straight points to tie the game at 69-69.Â
  After a Schoenecker layup, the Foresters (9-11, 6-5) scored six straight points to grab a 75-71 lead with 2:58 remaining.
Nathan Valentine's layup with 1:37 left cut the margin to 75-73. After a Lake Forest miss and a Lawrence turnover, the Vikings were forced to foul in the final minute.Â
  The Foresters went 5-for-6 from the line in the final 40 seconds to secure the win.
  Alex Knight led Lake Forest with 21 points.Â
