DE PERE, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team fell behind early Friday to No. 10 St. Norbert College and dropped a 6-1 decision in the opener of the Slaats Cup quarterfinal playoff series.Â
  St. Norbert scored less than 90 seconds into the game and led 3-0 after the opening period. Lawrence got its lone goal from
Taylor Halverson early in the second period.
  St. Norbert (21-4-1) needs a win or a tie on Saturday to win the series. The Vikings (6-16-4) need to win Saturday to force a decisive mini-game.
  Natalie Hogan scored back-to-back goals for St. Norbert in the opening period, and Abby Pieper added a goal just 33 seconds into the second period for a 4-0 lead.Â
  Halverson scored her first goal of the season off assists from
Meg Landman and Sophia Lacrecque at the 3:00 mark of the second to cut the margin to 4-1.The Green Knights then tacked on a goal early in the third period to seal the win.

Sarah Dobrzynski made 31 saves for the Vikings. Keira Markell stopped 14 shots for the Green Knights.
