DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The Lawrence University women's hockey skated to a 0-0 overtime tie with Dubuque University on Friday night at ImOn Arena, but the Vikings picked up the shootout win in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association contest.
  After 65 scoreless minutes of hockey, the game finished as a tie, but Lawrence picked up an extra point in the standings with a 1-0 victory in the shootout.
  Neither team scored in the first two rounds of the three-round shootout, and
Reese Deibert was the next shooter for Lawrence (6-12-4, 3-8-4 NCHA). Deibert beat Dubuque goaltender Savannah Wuitschick to give the Vikings the lead.

Sarah Dobrzynski then stopped Dubuque's Aleah Giddings to give Lawrence the shootout win.
  Dobrzynski stopped 33 shots to record the shutout as she made 14 stops in the opening period and three in the five-minute overtime. Wuitschick made 28 saves for the Spartans.
  Lawrence was limited to just three shots on goal in the opening period, but the Vikings picked up steam as the game went on. Lawrence had 10 shots in the second period and 14 more in the third. The Vikings went 0-for-5 on the power play, and Dubuque was 0-for-2.
  The teams finish the series on Saturday afternoon.
