APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's lacrosse team celebrated the first home game in program history in style Saturday with a 22-5 nonconference win over Northland College on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Brody Herr scored six goals, and
Iori Yamada added four for the Vikings, who have won two straight. Lawrence piled up a 76-20 edge in shots over the Lumberjacks (0-3).
Robbie Spielmann picked up a game-high five assists to go with one goal for Lawrence (2-3).

Gavin Reiter played the opening half in goal for the Vikings and made three saves to earn the win.
  The game was tied 1-1 less than five minutes into the opening quarter, and then the scoring floodgates opened for Lawrence. The Vikings outscored Northland 7-1 over the final 9:13 of the first quarter to grab an 8-2 advantage.
Finn Anderson scored twice in that stretch for Lawrence, including a goal with one second left in the opening quarter.
  Lawrence kept the pressure on as the Vikings dominated the second quarter. The Vikings outscored Northland 8-0 in the second quarter on a 26-3 advantage in shots. Yamada scored three times in the second quarter, and Herr and
Judah Goehring both added a pair of goals as Lawrence built a 16-2 lead at the half.
  Anderson scored his third goal of the game to open the third quarter as the Vikings continued to pull away. Herr added a trio of second-half goals for the Vikings.
  Lawrence posted a 59-17 advantage in ground balls, and the Vikings went 4-for-8 on extra-man opportunities. Northland was limited to 2-for-4 with the extra man.
  Elijah Clark made 22 saves for Northland.Â
