APPLETON, Wis. -- It was a soggy home opener for the Lawrence University women's lacrosse team on Saturday at Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
  Playing the first home game in program history, Lawrence battled rain and wind and Edgewood College. The Eagles pulled out to an early lead and posted a 15-5 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference victory.
  With temperatures hovering around 40 and the wind howling from the northeast, Edgewood (3-5, 2-0 NACC) raced out to a 10-0 lead at the half.
  Lawrence (1-5, 0-2) came out of the locker room strong by scoring the second half first two goals.

Lydia Lueck got the scoring started for Lawrence with a goal just 1:20 into the second half.
Annika Solberg scored her first collegiate goal off a pass from Lueck with 11:34 left in the third to trim the margin to 10-2.
  Edgewood countered by scoring the game's next two goals, but Lueck then scored back-to-back goals for the Vikings to cut the lead to 12-4. Lueck added another goal in the fourth quarter.Â
  Lueck finished with four goals and an assist to pace Lawrence.
Evelyn Pryadkin made nine saves for the Vikings.
  Edgewood had a 32-18 edge in shots and a 33-26 advantage in ground balls.Â
