APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University softball team pounded out 33 hits Wednesday en route to posting a nonconference doubleheader sweep of Mount Mary University at Whiting Field.
  Lawrence won the opener 10-2 and took the nightcap 16-7 as both games ended after five innings.
  In the first game, Lawrence (18-18) connected for 15 hits.
Jordan Wallin-Swanson went 3-for-3 with a double, scored twice and drove in a run for the Vikings.
Zoe Doherty went 2-for-4 with a triple, drove in four runs and scored once from Lawrence's lead-off spot in the order.

Gillian Guerriero and
Adrie Villa all picked up two hits for the Vikings.
  Lawrence scored three times in the first with Hughes picking up a run-scoring single, and the Vikings added four more runs in the second. Doherty, Gonzalez, Wallin-Swanson and Hughes all had run-scoring hits in the second.Â
  The Vikings closed the game out with three more runs in the fifth. With two runners aboard, Doherty tripled to score
Khayla Santiago and Villa, and a throwing error allowed Doherty to score to finish the game via the eight-run rule.

Avery Chilson tossed four innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out four without a walk, to pick up the win.
  In the nightcap, the Vikings collected 18 hits and got a huge game from Haller. Haller went 3-for-4 with a homer and a double, drove in six runs and scored twice. Doherty went 3-for-3 and scored three times, and Gonzalez, Wallin-Swanson,
Kourtney Mercer, Guerriero and Santiago all had two hits.Â

Georgia Sedlack gave up eight hits through three innings but picked up the win.
Kylan Arndt, who also worked the final inning of the first game, tossed two strong innings to finish the game.
  Lawrence scored four times in the first on five hits, including Mercer's RBI single, to take a 4-2 lead after one. The Vikings then scored seven times in the second to pull away. After Santiago and Doherty reached to begin the frame, Haller blasted a three-run homer to right for a 7-2 lead. Guerriero added a two-run double, Villa picked up a run-scoring single and Haller finished the scoring with a run-scoring single.
  The Vikings tacked on five more in the fourth with Haller smacking a two-run double as they eased out to a 10-run lead. Arndt then closed the game out in the top of the fifth.
