Vikings can't hold on against Hamline

    APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's soccer team grabbed the early lead Sunday, but Hamline University rallied for a 3-1 nonconference victory over the Vikings on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
    The Vikings scored in the 34th minute and led 1-0 at the half, but Hamline tied it early in the second half and took the lead for good with less than 14 minutes remaining.
    William Mikkelsen scored his first career goal for Lawrence (0-2-2) at the 33:38 mark. Mikkelsen headed the ball into the net off a corner kick by Pablo Silveira for a 1-0 lead. It was Mikkelsen's first collegiate goal.
    Hamline's Beniam Makonnen scored for Hamline at 52:48, and Johanso Camacho scored the game-winner at 76:41. 
    Lawrence goalkeeper Nason Lancina was outstanding in net for the Vikings and finished with 11 saves. Alec Setterberg made three saves for the Pipers (3-0-1). 
    Hamline had a 19-9 edge in shots for the match.
