ST. PAUL, Minn. — Lawrence University (0-14-0) fell to St. Catherine University (7-5-0), 7–2, on Friday evening. The Vikings managed a power-play goal in the second period but were unable to overcome the early three-goal deficit.

The first period began with the Wildcats taking control of the game, winning the opening faceoff and applying early pressure. Ana Myers opened the scoring for St. Catherine with a power-play goal at 16:32, assisted by Raechel Painovich and Rhiannon Ashworth. Myers then extended the lead to 2–0 with another power-play goal at 7:36, again assisted by Painovich. She completed a hat trick at 1:49 with an even-strength goal, assisted by Lauren Schmidt and Michelle Smith, giving the Wildcats a 3–0 lead heading into the intermission. Ella Sciborski made several key saves for the Vikings, but the team was unable to capitalize on their power-play opportunities.

Lawrence narrowed the gap early in the second period, capitalizing on a power play at 13:56 when Ashley Slupe scored with an assist from Sullivan Gillis. Shortly thereafter, Kate Holtz netted an even-strength goal at 9:29, assisted by Slupe and Emmerson Berger, bringing the Vikings within one. However, the Wildcats responded quickly, regaining a two-goal lead at 9:09 with Myers finding the back of the net, assisted by Sara Cooney. The period ended with the Wildcats holding a 4–2 advantage.

St. Catherine extended their lead early in the third period with a goal from Smith at 16:55, assisted by Myers. Despite the Vikings' attempts, including shots by Valeria Ansoleaga and Reese Deibert, the Wildcats' defense held firm.
