Vikings pick up road win over Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. — Lawrence University (1-15-0, 1-8-0) secured a 2-1 victory over Trine University (5-9-2, 1-7-1) at Angola Ice Arena. The Vikings goaltender made 36 saves, including 16 in the third period, to preserve the win.

Lawrence began the first period with control, winning the initial faceoff and setting a competitive tone. Landman led the faceoff wins, and O'Brien and Slupe each managed shots on goal, though they were saved by Trine's Revesz. Perry came close to scoring, hitting the pipe with a shot at 6:14.

Dobrzynski was crucial for Lawrence in goal, making multiple saves to keep Trine off the scoreboard throughout the period despite facing a power play at 11:47. The defense was bolstered by blocked shots from Labrecque and Pryadkin. The period concluded with the score tied at 0–0.

The second period began with Lawrence quickly capitalizing on an opportunity as Daly scored at 19:29, assisted by Landman and Boberg, pushing the Vikings ahead 1-0. The Thunder responded shortly after, equalizing the score with a goal from Koppa at 16:38.

Lawrence regained the lead at 09:33 when Boberg scored the game-winning goal, assisted by Landman and Labrecque. Despite several more attempts, neither team added to their totals, and Lawrence maintained a 2-1 advantage as the period concluded.

Lawrence began the third period with a faceoff victory by Landman, maintaining early momentum. Despite facing a power play after a tripping penalty on Slupe, Lawrence's defense and Dobrzynski's goaltending held firm, preventing Trine from capitalizing.

Lawrence then generated offensive pressure during their own power play, with shots from Pryadkin and Landman testing Trine's defense, though none found the back of the net. As the clock wound down, Lawrence continued to press but maintained their narrow 2–1 advantage over the Thunder securing the road win.Ā
