APPLETON, Wis. — Lawrence (10-7, 3-5 Midwest Conference) secured a 64-58 victory over Beloit (5-12, 0-8 Midwest Conference) on Wednesday at Alexander Gym. Lawrence dominated the paint, outscoring Beloit 34-20 in that area.
Lawrence opened the game with strong inside play, scoring 14 points in the paint during the first half.
Nicholas Gouriotis and
Hogan Demovsky each contributed to the scoring, with Demovsky hitting a pair of 3-pointers that helped Lawrence seize momentum midway through the half. Lawrence also capitalized on second-chance opportunities, scoring seven points from offensive rebounds.
Despite Lawrence's efforts, the half saw multiple lead changes. The Buccaneers countered with effective shooting from beyond the arc, converting seven 3-pointers. As the half concluded, Beloit held a slight edge, leading 32–26.
