Vikings Sweep Ripon to Stay Perfect in MWC Play

RIPON, Wis. — The Lawrence University women's volleyball team continued its impressive run through Midwest Conference play Tuesday night, sweeping Ripon College 3-0 at Weiske Gymnasium.

The Vikings controlled the match from start to finish, earning set victories of 25-9, 25-19 and 25-9. Lawrence delivered a balanced offensive performance, recording 39 kills while hitting .360 as a team. The Vikings also totaled 10 blocks and eight service aces to keep the Red Hawks off balance throughout the evening.

Bella Van Lannen paced the Lawrence attack with 12 kills on 19 attempts, finishing with a .632 hitting percentage. Audrey Weier and Meg Pfannerstill added seven kills apiece, with Pfannerstill recording an outstanding .875 hitting percentage. Weier also contributed four solo blocks as the Vikings established a strong presence at the net.

Lawrence set the tone early in the opening set, jumping out to a commanding advantage before closing out a 25-9 victory. The Vikings recorded 13 kills while committing just one attack error, hitting .545 in a dominant first-set performance.

The second set presented a more competitive challenge as Ripon worked to stay within reach. Lawrence responded with 17 kills in the frame, gradually creating separation before securing a 25-19 win to move within one set of the sweep.

The Vikings left little doubt in the third set, limiting Ripon to five kills and closing out another 25-9 decision to complete the straight-sets victory.

Hallie Neill directed the offense with 17 assists and added seven digs. Amanda Vlkovic contributed nine digs and eight assists, while Pfannerstill finished with 10 digs. Aria Wessel added five digs, and Emma Nilson chipped in three block assists.

Defensively, Lawrence held Ripon to 18 kills and a -.024 hitting percentage. The Vikings' combination of efficient attacking, strong blocking and consistent serving proved decisive in the conference matchup.
