STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The Lawrence University volleyball team faced second-ranked UW-Oshkosh on Friday at Berg Gym, earning a third-set victory before falling to the Titans in four sets, 25-13, 28-26, 15-25, 25-14, at the UW-Stevens Point Polito's Invitational.
Bella Van Lannen paced the Lawrence offense with 15 kills on 39 attacks, finishing with a .231 hitting percentage. Norma Glisczinski added seven kills without an error on 14 attempts to hit .500, while Audrey Weier contributed five kills.
The Vikings battled throughout the second set, pushing the Titans beyond the standard 25 points. Lawrence fought back to tie the score at 24-24 and continued trading points with UW-Oshkosh before the Titans secured the set, 28-26.
Lawrence responded in the third set with its most efficient offensive performance of the match. The Vikings recorded 11 kills without an attack error on 30 attempts, hitting .367 to take the set, 25-15. Van Lannen and Glisczinski helped lead the attack as Lawrence extended the match.
UW-Oshkosh regained control in the fourth set, using an efficient offensive effort to close out the match, 25-14.
Makenna Rettler led Lawrence with 17 assists, while Hallie Neill added 16 assists and 11 digs. Amanda Vlkovic finished with 13 digs to lead the Vikings defensively, and Aria Wessel added 14 digs. Meg Pfannerstill contributed eight kills and eight digs, while Emma Nilson recorded two solo blocks and two block assists.
