APPLETON, Wis. — Lawrence University secured its fourth consecutive Midwest Conference tournament appearance Saturday, earning a 1-0 road victory over Grinnell College behind a clutch second-half goal from Ava Elders.

The goal proved to be all the Vikings needed, as Lawrence protected its advantage over the final minutes to secure the shutout and clinch its place in the conference tournament for the fourth straight season.
Lawrence finished with an 11-5 advantage in shots, putting seven attempts on target compared to two for Grinnell. The Vikings also earned six corner kicks while limiting the Pioneers to one.
Bee Brockert anchored the defensive effort in goal, recording two saves to preserve the clean sheet. The Lawrence defense kept Grinnell off the scoreboard throughout the contest, allowing Elders' late finish to stand as the game-winner.
