Tegenfeldt-Pfohman Nets Two as Vikings Shut Out Beloit

APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University men's soccer team turned in a complete performance Saturday morning, controlling play on both ends of the field in a 3-0 victory over Beloit College at the Banta Bowl. Quill Tegenfeldt-Pfohman scored twice, Grayson Ogren contributed two assists, and the Vikings received goals from three different players to secure the shutout.

Lawrence established control early and broke through in the 21st minute. Tegenfeldt-Pfohman finished a scoring opportunity after receiving assists from Alan McIntosh and Ogren, putting the Vikings in front 1-0. The opening goal gave Lawrence an early advantage and set the tone for a strong attacking performance.

The Vikings continued to apply pressure after taking the lead, creating opportunities while limiting Beloit's chances in the attacking third. Lawrence finished the first half with the advantage on the scoreboard and carried that momentum into the second half, looking to extend its lead.

Tegenfeldt-Pfohman delivered again in the 64th minute, doubling Lawrence's advantage with his second goal of the match. Ogren provided the assist, connecting with Tegenfeldt-Pfohman for the second time to help the Vikings move in front 2-0. The combination proved particularly effective throughout the contest, with Ogren creating opportunities and Tegenfeldt-Pfohman converting twice.

Lawrence added an insurance goal in the 72nd minute to put the match further out of reach. Daito Sho found the back of the net off a pass from Pablo Silveira, giving the Vikings a three-goal cushion and completing the scoring. With three different players contributing goals, Lawrence showcased its ability to generate offense from multiple sources.

The Vikings' offensive production was reflected in the final statistics. Lawrence outshot Beloit 14-4 and placed 10 attempts on target, compared with two shots on goal for the visitors. Lawrence also earned seven corner kicks, creating additional opportunities to threaten the Beloit defense.

The defensive effort was just as important to the result. Lawrence kept Beloit off the scoreboard throughout the match, limiting the visitors to four total shots. Goalkeeper Cristian Puebla made two saves to preserve the clean sheet as the Vikings protected their advantage through the final whistle.
