APPLETON, Wis. — Lawrence University (2-22-0, 2-15-0) was defeated by St. Norbert College (14-8-2, 11-4-2), 5-0, at home.  Despite making 58 saves, the Vikings' defense could not contain the offensive pressure, allowing 63 shots on goal.

Lawrence began the first period with a strong defensive effort, highlighted by Sarah Dobrzynski's multiple saves, including a sequence of shots turned aside early in the period. The team capitalized on an early power play opportunity when Ava Anick of St. Norbert was penalized for roughing, but failed to convert the advantage into a score despite attempts from Meg Landman and Reese Deibert.

St. Norbert broke through at 14:18 with a goal from Grace Wittkopf, assisted by Maddie Madden, to take the lead. The Blue and White responded with defensive resilience, blocking several shot attempts by their opponents, notably by Sophia Labrecque. Despite sustained pressure, Lawrence ended the period trailing 1-0.

Lawrence faced an early challenge in the second period when St. Norbert's Briar Charchenko scored at 17:34, taking advantage of sustained pressure. Despite numerous attempts from Evelyn Pryadkin and Josie Daly during a power play, the home team was unable to convert, maintaining their deficit.

Claire Healy extended the Green Knights' lead with a goal at 7:01, capitalizing on a delayed penalty and extra attacker. Hannah Grabianowski further increased the visitor's margin with a goal at 3:45. The period closed with the Vikings trailing 4-0, as they continued to seek opportunities to shift the momentum in their favor.

Lawrence faced a challenging third period as St. Norbert's offense maintained consistent pressure. Despite starting the period with a penalty, Lawrence's defense and goalkeeper Dobrzynski effectively resisted multiple shots from the visitors, including key saves during two power plays.

However, St. Norbert capitalized on a power play opportunity with a goal by Wittkopf, assisted by Healy and Grabianowski, extending its lead. The Vikings continued to battle defensively, with Dobrzynski making several more saves to close out the game for the home team.
