Milwaukee, Wisconsin — Lawrence women's lacrosse dropped a 16-4 decision to MSOE on Wednesday afternoon in NACC play.
MSOE came out fast, building a 5-0 lead in the opening quarter and setting the tone early. Lawrence continued to battle and broke through in the second quarter with a free-position goal from Sarah Dobrzynski to get on the board.
The Vikings added another score later in the half when Bella Krull-Collins found the back of the net, cutting into the deficit and showing offensive life heading into the break.
Lawrence continued to compete in the second half, with Annika Solberg converting on a free-position opportunity and Sophia Labrecque adding a goal to round out the scoring.Â
Krull-Collins led the Vikings with a goal and an assist, while Dobrzynski, Labrecque, and Solberg each added a goal.Â
In goal, Neva Mertsching and Emma Berg combined for 16 saves as Lawrence worked to slow down a high-powered MSOE attack that generated 36 shots.Â
Defensively, the Vikings remained active throughout, collecting 22 ground balls and continuing to compete possession by possession.
