Mequon, Wisconsin — Lawrence saw its season come to a close on Saturday afternoon, falling to Concordia Wisconsin 19-7 in the NACC Tournament.
The Vikings came out with strong energy early, answering Concordia Wisconsin's opening goal with back-to-back scores from Emmett Eischens and Brody Herr to take a 2-1 lead midway through the first quarter. Lawrence continued to compete in the opening frame, staying within striking distance as the Falcons held a narrow 3-2 edge after one.Â
Lawrence kept pace early in the second quarter, getting goals from Logan Marsh and Robbie Spielmann to cut into the deficit, but Concordia Wisconsin used a late surge to create separation. A seven-goal second quarter from the Falcons proved to be the turning point, sending Lawrence into halftime trailing 10-5.Â
Brody Herr led the Vikings offensively with a four-point performance on two goals and two assists, while Joe McCabe added two assists. Additional goals came from Truett Jones, Judah Goehring, Logan Marsh, and Eischens as Lawrence generated 36 shots in the contest.Â
In the second half, Concordia Wisconsin continued to apply pressure, capitalizing on extra-man opportunities and controlling possession to extend its lead. The Falcons finished a perfect 7-for-7 on extra-man chances, a key factor in the outcome.Â
Defensively, goalkeeper Tyler Graham turned in a strong effort despite the final score, recording 23 saves while facing a high volume of shots.Â
The loss marks the end of the season for Lawrence, as the Vikings wrap up just their second year as a program with a postseason appearance in the NACC Tournament.
