Lake Forest, Illinois -- Lawrence University women's lacrosse opened strong but was unable to slow a high-powered Lake Forest attack, falling 21-3 on Saturday afternoon.
The Vikings came out with energy and control in the first quarter, jumping out to a 3-0 lead behind goals from Emmerson Berger, Evelyn Pryadkin, and Savannah Larsen. Emma Perry facilitated the early offense with two assists as Lawrence dictated the pace early.
Lake Forest responded late in the first quarter and carried that momentum into the second, scoring six goals in the period to take control of the game. The hosts continued to apply pressure offensively, finishing with 62 total shots compared to six for the Vikings.
Despite the final score, Lawrence saw strong efforts in goal, combining for 21 saves between Neva Mertsching and Emma Berg as they faced constant pressure throughout the contest.
