DE PERE, Wis. — The Lawrence University men's cross country team opened the 2026 season Saturday with a fifth-place finish at the Tom Barry Invitational hosted by St. Norbert College.
The Vikings totaled 129 points, finishing just one point behind fourth-place Wisconsin Lutheran. Lawrence posted a combined team time of 1:43:14.61 and an average of 20:38.93 over the 6-kilometer course.
Gabe Gross paced Lawrence, finishing 26th overall with a time of 20:15.16.
Finn Walston was the next Viking across the line, placing 37th in 20:39.03, while Jasper Hansen-Terry followed closely in 39th with a time of 20:40.79.
Jaxson Meyer finished 44th overall in 20:48.33, and Leigham Alexander rounded out Lawrence's scoring five in 48th with a time of 20:51.30.
Francis Alexander was Lawrence's sixth finisher in 21:18.24, while Reuben Keuler followed in 21:35.10.
Lawrence finished ahead of Green Bay Running Club, North Park and the St. Norbert Alumni team in the final standings.
