Chelsea Alt was named the inaugural head coach of Lawrence University Women's Flag Football in June 2026 and will lead the Vikings into their first season of competition in the spring of 2028.

Alt brings an extensive background as both a player and coach in women's football. She played 12 seasons professionally, earning five all-star selections while helping the New York Sharks capture both National and International Championships. Her contributions to the sport have been recognized through numerous leadership and service awards, including the 2022 Honorary ESPY Award for her outstanding achievement and impact on local women's sports.

Prior to joining Lawrence, Alt served as the Defensive Coordinator and Assistant Coach for Marian University's women's flag football program. She played a key role in building the program from the ground up, helping guide the Sabres to a 10-4 record during their inaugural season.

Alt also spent time as an assistant coach at Bryant & Stratton College in Wauwatosa, where she helped develop the school's flag football program. Beyond the collegiate level, she has worked to grow opportunities for women and girls in the sport through a variety of coaching and leadership roles. As an assistant coach for the College Gridiron Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas, she coordinated a girls flag football event designed to increase visibility and participation in the game. She also served as an assistant coach with the Women's Gridiron Foundation in New York, where she planned and led flag football camps for women and girls of all ages and experience levels.

In addition to her coaching career, Alt has professional experience in public service administration and brand management. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Service with a concentration in Management of Criminal Justice from Concordia University Wisconsin.
