Daniel Martin has been a part of the Lawrence University swimming and diving programs since 2003, first as a student-athlete and now as an assistant coach.
A native of Oak Creek, Wis., Martin was a standout swimmer for the Vikings under Lawrence Hall of Fame coach Kurt Kirner. A 2007 graduate of Lawrence, Martin joined the Lawrence coaching staff in the fall of 2008 as an assistant coach. He continues to serve in that role today.
Martin spent several years after graduating from Lawrence processing blood post-donation at the Community Blood Center in Appleton before returning to Lawrence in the fall of 2013 as the laboratory supervisor for the Chemistry Department.
Affectionately known as “DMart” both on the pool deck and in the lab, Martin is passionate about staying organized and keeping the things running smoothly. Outside of chemistry and athletics, Martin enjoys biking, kayaking, hammocking, volunteering with the Lawrence University Rowing Club, serving as a course marshal for community races (5k, 10k, half and full marathons), supporting new student orientation and tutoring anyone who has questions about EXCEL.
