Pointers shut out Lawrence

STEVENS POINT, Wis. -- The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer jumped out to a big early lead Saturday and went on to a 9-0 nonconference win over Lawrence University at the Point Soccer Bowl.

The Pointers scored five times in the first half and went on from there. Maddy Hardyman had a hat trick for the Pointers.

Claire Vinopal made four saves in the opening half, and Katlyn Seiffert stopped six shots in the second half for the Vikings.

Lawrence returns to action on Sunday when it travels to St. Mary's (Minn.) University.
