APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's soccer team gave up three goals in a 10-minute span in the second half as UW-Eau Claire pulled away for a 4-0 nonconference win on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
Eau Claire (11-3-0) led 1-0 at the break and then scored a trio of goals from the 58th through the 68th minute to break the game open.
Nathan Donovan scored the first and last goals for the Blugolds, and Porter Ball scored the two goals in the middle.
  Lawrence goalkeeper
Hunter Lanton started and made six saves for the Vikings (7-8-0), and
Ethan Uribe stopped two shots in relief. Spencer Banks and Jakob Leonard combined to make seven saves for Eau Claire, which had a 32-16 edge in shots.
Lawrence had multiple quality scoring chances, but Banks made a big save in the first half and
Konstantinos Fardellas narrowly missed an open net when Banks was out of position in the second half. Leonard was in the game for only a few minutes when he smothered a shot off the foot of
Mark Todd that seemed destined for the back of the net.
Lawrence returns to Midwest Conference play when the Vikings head to Cornell College on Saturday.Â
