APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University baseball team won a see-saw affair in game two of Tuesday's Midwest Conference doubleheader with St. Norbert College to earn a split at Whiting Field.
   Lawrence took the nightcap 12-8 after St. Norbert won the opener 14-2 in eight innings.
   In the second game, Lawrence pounded out 17 hits in a game that featured six lead changes.
Jacob Charon led the Lawrence attack by going 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and two runs batted in. Charon was on base six times in the contest as he also drew three walks.

Mitchell Sandleback went 3-for-5 for the Vikings (10-8, 4-6 MWC) with two doubled, two runs scored and an RBI.
Jake Land was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, and
Ethan Plantz was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.
Zach Leslie,
Spenser Ross and
Quinn Berglin all had two hits for the Vikings and all drove in two runs.

Nick Guzzo threw one inning of relief to pick up the victory, and
Quinn Berglin tossed the final three innings of stellar one-hit relief to pick up his second save of the season.
   Lawrence took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on Land's run-scoring double, but St. Norbert scored twice in the third to take the lead back. The Vikings grabbed the lead right back in the bottom of the third with a pair of runs. Leslie produced a run-scoring single, and
Luke Miles had a sacrifice fly to put the Vikings up 3-2.
   St. Norbert scored twice in the top of the fourth to go up 4-3, but the Vikings grabbed the lead back in the bottom half of the inning. Plantz started the rally with a double and
Clayton Agler followed with a single. Charon then belted a two-run double, and Berglin followed with a run-scoring single to put the Vikings up 6-4.
   The Green Knights struck back for four runs in the sixth with Nick Volz delivering a three-run double for an 8-6 advantage.
   It didn't take long for the Vikings to strike back as Lawrence scored six times in the bottom of the sixth. Ross and Charon started the inning with singles, and the Green Knights brought in reliever Nick Brauer to face Berglin. Berglin delivered a single to score Ross, and Leslie singled to score Charon and the game was tied 8-8.
   Sandleback smacked a double to score Berglin and Lawrence led 9-8. After getting an out at home, Land's sacrifice fly scored Sandleback for a 10-8 advantage. After Plantz's bunt single and a throwing error, the Vikings had two runners in scoring position. Ross then singled up the middle to score both Plantz and
Luke Miles for a 12-8 lead.
   Berglin then came on in relief and allowed just a ninth-inning single to earn the save.
   In the opener, St. Norbert broke the game open with five runs in the fourth and picked up five runs in the eighth. Trevor Ramthun allowed one run over the first five innings to get the win for St. Norbert (11-8, 5-3).
   Charon went 2-for-4 with a double for the Vikings, and Miles was 2-for-3.
