RIPON, Wis. --
Emilia Jackson fired a one-hitter Saturday as the Lawrence University softball team claimed a Midwest Conference doubleheader split with Ripon College at Tracy Field.
Led by Jackson's effort in the circle, the Vikings won the nightcap 13-0 in five innings. Ripon won the opener 10-0 in five innings.
Jackson allowed only a third-inning single in the complete-game victory. She struck out three and walked two in her first shutout of the season and fifth of her career. Jackson's one-hitter in the first for the Vikings since Shannon Murray beat Illinois Benedictine 2-0 on March 26, 2013.
Jackson got plenty of offensive support as the Vikings pounded out 14 hits.
Mikayla Jeneske went 3-for-4 with a home run and a double, scored two runs and drove in four to pace the Vikings (3-13, 2-6 MWC).
Amanda Karnatz was 3-for-4, scored two runs and drove in two, and
Mary Boyle went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in a pair.Â
  Â

Shelby Johnson both had a pair of hits for Lawrence, and
Ceara Larson drove in two runs.
Lawrence led 1-0 heading to the second inning when the Vikings exploded for seven runs. Karnatz had a two-run single in the inning and Jeneske added a two-run single before Boyle belted a two-run double to give Lawrence an 8-0 lead.
Lawrence made it 9-0 in the fourth when Jeneske blasted a solo homer, and the Vikings tacked on four more runs in the fifth. Larson had an RBI single and Jeneske added a run-scoring double in the fifth for the Vikings.
Lilli Smith made the start for Ripon (4-20, 1-7) but didn't make it out of the second inning and took the loss.
In the opener, Ripon scored twice in the first and led 3-0 when the Red Hawks scored five times in the third to pull away.
Alyssa Banta went the distance and picked up the win for Ripon. Jackson started the opener, went two innings and took the loss.
Karnatz went 2-for-3 for the Vikings, who were limited to five hits.
