SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Lawrence University men's soccer team was edged 3-1 by Whitman College on Sunday. 
    The Vikings (0-3-0) were down by a goal when Whitman scored with just over five minutes remaining to seal the victory.
    Lawrence trailed 2-0 but rookie Konstantinos Fardellas cut that deficit in half with his first collegiate goal. Fardellas scored off an assist by Atzin Osorio at the 76:11 mark.
    Oscar Harding then scored for Whitman at 84:37 to stretch the lead back to two.
    Whitman piled up a 32-2 edge in shots, and Lawrence goalkeeper Hunter Lanton made 10 saves. None of the three Whitman goalkeepers recorded a save.
