Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Big second period too much to overcome for Vikings

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Lawrence University men's hockey team gave up five goals in the second period Tuesday, and No. 1 Adrian College rode that outburst to an 8-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association victory at Arrington Ice Arena.
The Vikings trailed 2-0 after the opening period, but the Bulldogs scored five times over a stretch of 13 minutes in the second period to pull away.
Lawrence got on the board when rookie Tim DeBord scored his first collegiate goal at the 16:29 mark of the third period off an assist from fellow first-year player Dante Terramani.
Brian Tallieu made the start in goal for the Vikings (5-9-2, 3-4-1 NCHA) and allowed five goals while stopping 17 shots in the first 27:44. Rookie Kyle McNair played the final 32:10 and made 17 saves while allowing three goals.
Nic Tallarico made 20 saves to get the win for Adrian (16-1-0, 10-0-0).
Lawrence returns home to face Finlandia University in an NCHA series Saturday and Sunday.
