MONMOUTH, Ill. -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team started slow Saturday and dropped a 71-43 Midwest Conference decision to Monmouth College at Glennie Gymnasium.
    Lawrence (6-9, 3-4 MWC) shot just 2-for-28 from the floor in the opening half as Monmouth opened a 40-14 lead at the break.
    Kenya Earl led Lawrence with a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds. Lydia Lueck added eight points for the Vikings, and Mallory Meyer had seven points.
    Josie Morgan and Zoie Wall had 16 points apiece to lead Monmouth (7-3, 4-0).
