BELOIT, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team suffered a disappointing 72-67 Midwest Conference loss to Beloit College on Wednesday at Flood Arena.
  Lawrence, which led for all but roughly eight minutes of the game, was ahead with two minutes remaining before Beloit hit three consecutive shots, including a pair of 3-pointers, to take the lead for good.

Brad Sendell scored a game-high 27 points as he made 9-of-15 shots from the floor, including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Sendell added three assists, two rebounds and a steal.
  Sendell pushed his career scoring total to 1,416 and moved past Jamie Nikitas (1,406) and into fourth place. Sendell is 150 points from passing all-time scoring leader Chris Braier.

Matthew Kaznikov added 10 points and four rebounds for Lawrence, and
Adnan Sarancic had nine points and six rebounds.
Elliot Jung had a team-best seven rebounds for the Vikings to go along with five points.
  The Vikings (7-10, 4-4 MWC) led for the first 25-plus minutes of the game before Beloit (5-14, 3-7) took its first lead of the contest at 44-41 with 14:20 left. The Bucs led for the next six minutes before a pair of free throws from
Kyle Lillwitz put Lawrence up 54-52 with 8:17 remaining.
  Lawrence led by as many as five at 61-56 on a Kaznikov 3-pointer, but the Vikings went cold after that. Lawrence hit just one of its next four shots from the floor while the Bucs hit their final five shots from the floor to push their lead to 69-65 with 45 seconds left.
  The Vikings missed a 3-pointer at this point and were forced to foul. Beloit made 3-of-4 from the line in the final 25 seconds to seal the victory.
  Lawrence was strong from the start of the contest and built a 12-8 lead when Sendell drained a 3-pointer with 14:09 left in the opening half. Beloit trimmed the lead back to two points on several occasions, but Sendell scored eight points as part of a 12-4 Lawrence run over the final 4:55 of the first half.
  The Vikings led 36-26 at the break, but the Bucs quickly erased the deficit by outscoring Lawrence 13-5 to open the second half.
  Lawrence returns home Saturday to face Lake Forest College at Alexander Gymnasium.Â
