DE PERE, Wis. -- A fourth-quarter surge was the difference Friday as the Lawrence University women's basketball team dropped a 74-63 nonconference decision to St. Norbert College at the Mulva Center.
  The game was part of the Nicolet National Bank Tip-Off Tournament. Lawrence will play UW-La Crosse at the tournament on Saturday.
  Lawrence trailed 54-53 when St. Norbert went on a 10-1 run to take control of the game. Lawrence closed to within seven points but got no closer.

Mallory Meyer led Lawrence (1-1) with a game-high 18 points and added seven rebounds and a pair of assists.
Emma Carlson posted a double-double for the Vikings with 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
Delaney Brooks came off the bench to score 11 points for Lawrence.
  Lawrence scored the game's first six points, but St. Norbert battled back to tie the game 14-14 after one quarter. The Green Knights led by as many as seven points in the second quarter and settled for a 35-29 advantage at the half.
  St. Norbert (1-0) pushed the lead to as many as 13 points in the third quarter, but the Vikings chipped away and trimmed the advantage to 54-46 headed to the fourth quarter.
  Carlson started the final quarter with a layup, and Brooks followed with a 3-pointer to cut the margin to 54-53 with 8:13 left. The Green Knights scored the next six points before a free throw from Meyer cut the lead to 60-54 with 5:05 left.Â
  After St. Norbert went up 63-54, Meyer hit a jumper, but St. Norbert scored the next three points to get the lead back to double digits. Lawrence got no closer than eight points in the final minute.
