GENEVA, Ill. -- The Lawrence University men's hockey team was shut out for the second consecutive game with a 5-0 setback to No. 14 Aurora University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Fox Valley Arena.
  The Spartans got one goal in each of the first two periods before pulling away with three scores in the third.
  Kolby Thornton stopped 39 shots for Aurora (9-2-2, 6-0-2 NCHA). Lawrence's
Owen Carlson made 30 saves. The Vikings had a 39-35 edge in shots on goal in the contest.
  It looked the first period was going to be scoreless before Aurora's Jack Jaunich scored with just nine seconds left to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead heading to the second period. Jaunich made it 2-0 when he scored on the power play at the 11:05 mark of the second.
  Aurora led 3-0 when Jaunich completed the hat trick with a goal at the 9:58 mark of the third.
  Lawrence (1-8-0, 1-5-0) takes a break from league play this week with road games at Gustavus Adolphus College and St. John's University.
