GALESBURG, Ill. -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team fell behind by double digits on the final basket of the first half Tuesday and never recovered in a 72-44 Midwest Conference loss to Knox College at Memorial Gymnasium.
  Knox scored the final nine points of the first half to pull out to a 32-21 lead at the half, and the Prairie Fire pulled away in the third quarter. Knox (8-9, 6-3 MWC) then went on a 17-5 run to start the third quarter and built a 52-26 lead. Lawrence never got closer than 22 points the rest of the way.

Kenya Earl had a rough shooting night and finished with a team-high 13 points for Lawrence (8-10, 5-5). Earl also had eight rebounds, a pair of steals and a block.Â

Mallory Meyer was a very efficient 5-for-9 from the floor on her way to 10 points, three rebounds, three steals and a block for the Vikings.
Maggie Culver pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds and finished with six points for Lawrence.
  Sarina Dacio led Knox with 21 points.Â
  Lawrence returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Ripon College at Alexander Gymnasium.
