Lawrence shut out by Blue Angels

    PEORIA, Ill. -- The 2022 season got off to a tough start for the Lawrence University softball team Thursday as the Vikings dropped an 18-0 decision in five innings to Mount Mary University at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex.
    Lawrence collected just one hit, a fifth-inning single from Chapin Grumhaus, in the contest. 
    Mount Mary rapped out 14 hits and scored in every inning.
    Brianna Lupa went the distance to get the win, striking out six and walking one. Xiomara Rueda-Marshall pitched the first two innings and took the loss.
