Lawrence shut down by MIT

    CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Lawrence University softball team fell 9-1 in six innings to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in a nonconference game on Monday.
    Lawrence was limited to two hits while the Engineers scored in every inning but the second.
    Mikayla Jeneske's solo homer in the fifth was one of the hits for the Vikings. Mary Boyle also singled in the same inning.
    Jordan Wallin-Swanson allowed six runs and seven hits over 4.1 innings, and took the loss for the Vikings. Deborah Torres went five innings and earned the victory for MIT.
