CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Lawrence University softball team dropped a 9-2 nonconference decision to Manchester University on Monday.
  Lawrence grabbed the early lead, but Manchester scored five times in the second and pulled away from there.

Xiomara Rueda-Marshall homered for the Vikings, and
Jordan Wallin-Swanson and
Mary Boyle both went 2-for-3.
  Rueda-Marshall hit a one-out homer in the bottom of the first to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead. The Spartans then scored five times on four hits in the second inning to grab a 5-1 advantage. Manchester tacked on a run in the third and led 6-1 heading to the bottom of the fourth.
  The Vikings trimmed the lead to four runs in the fourth.
Chapin Grumhaus reached on a fielder's choice and came around to score on Boyle's double, and that sliced the margin to 6-2.
  Manchester came back with two runs in the fifth and added another in the seventh for the final margin.
  Lizzie Smith allowed two runs on six hits while going the distance to get the win. Rueda-Marshall went the distance and took the loss.
