In the second game, Jessica Pauley shut down the Lawrence offense. She allowed four hits over five innings, struck out four and walked one to earn the victory.
Lawrence again led early as the Vikings scored in the top of the second. Chapin Grumhaus started the inning with a single and then stole second and moved to third on the play. After a strikeout, Grumhaus stole home to give Lawrence a 1-0 lead.
Monmouth countered with four runs in the bottom of the second and pulled away with five runs in the third and two more in the fourth.
Lawrence (2-22, 0-4) added a run in the seventh when Laney Martens singled and moved to second on Jeneske's single. She came home to score on an error for the final margin.
