HANCOCK, Mich. -- The Lawrence University men's hockey team put together a huge third-period rally Saturday to force overtime, but Finlandia University pulled out a 6-5 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association victory at the Houghton County Arena.
  Lawrence trailed 5-1 early in the third period before scoring four times, including a game-tying goal with eight seconds left in regulation, to move the game to overtime. Finlandia then scored with 3:21 left in OT to grab the victory.

Will Crull finished with a goal and three assists, and
Cory Checco had a goal and two assists for the Vikings.
Kyle Gierman picked up a pair of assists for Lawrence (3-13-2, 2-8-1 NCHA), which picked up four points on the weekend.
  The Vikings led just 3:01 into the first when
Adam Zukowski scored his first collegiate goal off assists from
James Scott and
Brendan Vettraino. Finlandia scored twice in the first and led 2-1 after one period. The Lions (2-14-1, 1-10-0) also scored twice in the second and added another goal at the 3:16 mark of the third for a 5-1 lead.
  Lawrence started the comeback after Finlandia was whistled for interference at the 4:30 mark. Checco cashed in with a power-play goal at 5:50 off assists from Crull and Gierman to trim the margin to 5-2. The Lions were called for interference at 9:35, and the Vikings were back on the power play. Lawrence converted again when
Jayden Jensen scored at the 11:14 mark with assists going to Checco and Crull to cut the lead to 5-3.
  Lawrence was still down two when it pulled goaltender
Owen Carlson with just over two minutes remaining.Â
  Lawrence had the extra attacker on when Crull scored off assists from
Ivan Galaguzov and Gierman with 36 seconds left to trim the lead to 5-4. With the extra attacker still on the ice, the Vikings struck again with just eight seconds left.
Jordan Cooper scored in the waning seconds off assists from Crull and Checco to tie the game at 5-5.Â
  The Lions' Nate Holm then scored 1:39 into overtime to pick up the win.
  Carlson made 15 saves for the Vikings, and Dakota Meyer stopped 32 shots for Finlandia. Lawrence had a 37-22 edge in shots.
