APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's hockey team struggled to find the back of the net Friday as Lake Forest College posted a 7-0 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association win at the Appleton Ice Center.
  Lake Forest led 2-0 after the opening period, and the Foresters started to pull away with two goals in the final five minutes of the second period. Lake Forest then scored three times in the third period with the help of two power-play goals to complete the scoring.
  Lake Forest goaltender Nick Wiencek kept Lawrence off the board by making 23 saves.
Owen Carlson started in net for the Vikings and made 21 saves before giving way to
Brian Tallieu late in the second period. Tallieu finished with 18 saves over the final 21:06.
  The Foresters (8-8-4, 5-5-3 NCHA) scored just 2:03 into the game and then added another goal at the 15:43 mark of the first. Lake Forest got two goals, including a power-play tally, in the final 4:52 of the second.Â
  Lake Forest went 3-for-9 on the power play, and Lawrence (3-15-2, 2-11-1) was 0-for-4.
  The teams wrap up the series on Saturday night at Lake Forest.
