Vikings drop league contest to Knox

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team fell behind in the second quarter Tuesday and weren't able to recover in a 60-35 Midwest Conference setback to Knox College at Alexander Gymnasium.
Lawrence led after one quarter, but Knox pulled out to a 10-point lead at the half before stretching the margin in the final 20 minutes.
Libby Crandall posted her second consecutive double-figure scoring game and led the Vikings with 11 points while adding four rebounds. Crandall knocked down 3-of-7 3-pointers. Lydia Lueck added eight points and picked up five rebounds for Lawrence (7-14, 3-9 MWC).
Other than Crandall, the Vikings struggled to shoot the ball from long distance. Removing Crandall's performance, Lawrence went just 1-for-18 from beyond the arc.
The Vikings led 8-7 after the opening quarter, but Knox finished the first half on a 10-3 run to lead 25-15 at the half. Knox scored the first seven points of the second half to stretch the lead to 32-15. Lawrence never got closer than 15 points the rest of the way.
Kristin Herndon led Knox (16-4, 11-0) with a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds.
