GRINNELL, Iowa -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team ran into a hot-shooting Grinnell College squad Saturday and dropped a 74-46 Midwest Conference decision to the Pioneers at Darby Gymnasium.
  Grinnell shot 50 percent from the floor, including 11-for-25 (44 percent) from beyond the arc. The Vikings shot just 30.2 percent from the floor and missed all 11 of their 3-point shots.

Mallory Meyer led Lawrence (6-9, 2-4 MWC) with 13 points, and
Emma Carlson added 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
Lydia Lueck chipped in seven points for the Vikings, but no one else scored more than three.
  Grinnell went 8-for-15 from the floor in the opening quarter and jumped out to a 21-7 lead. The Pioneers then drained four 3-pointers in the second quarter and pushed the lead to 42-22 at the half.
  Lawrence went on an 8-0 run in the third quarter, with Meyer scoring four in that stretch, to pull the Vikings to 50-35 with 1:03 left in the period. Grinnell scored the last basket of the quarter, and Lawrence never got closer than 17 points the rest of the way.
  Skylar Thomas led Grinnell (5-8, 2-4) with 13 points and was one of four players in double figures.
