Vikings slug it out with Beloit in scoreless draw

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 tie with Beloit College in a Midwest Conference match on Wednesday on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
Lawrence dominated the contest with a 14-3 edge in shots against the Bucs.
The Vikings had multiple quality scoring chances but came up empty in what was a very physical contest with Beloit. Bucs goalkeeper Briana Arteaga made four saves
Lawrence goalkeeper Ella Lysne made one save for the Vikings, but it was a big one. Beloit's Abbey Scott was on a breakaway in the 41st minute, but Lysne came off her line at just the right moment and stuffed Scott's shot attempt.
The Vikings had several good scoring chances in the second half as well, including two in the final six minutes that were just off the mark.
Lawrence remains unbeaten in the Midwest Conference with a 2-0-1 mark and now stands 3-4-3 overall.
